Most of my co workers have no idea what oatmeal is, they proabably think I am crazy that I have a cup with a spoon at my desk.
Sometimes they peek at it, it probably grosses them out seeing dirty looking water with white stuff in it. HAHA!
I get a similar response from oatmeal, but I have to say bringing guacamole got the most interest. I had to bring a bento once and brought rice with guacamole and tomato on top. Everyone couldn’t decide how gross it looked until they got up the courage to ask if they could try it. Then everyone ate my lunch.
I used to bring in oatmeal. They gaffed. Then I made them apple crumble, and despite initial comments of “horse food” and “gerbil mix” they were pretty much instant converts.
