Procrastination: a meme

Listening… Red Heart: Hey! Rosetta

Reading… Kafka on the Shore – Murakami, Shoplifting from American Apparel – Tao Lin, Down and Out in Paris and London – Orwell, Obsolete: An Encyclopedia of Once-Common Things Passing Us By- Grossman.

Watching…The Cove, Lost, Freaks and Geeks

Buying…Last night I bought a small mandarin orange tree for my porch, and a cute wicker chair to sit on while I watch my tiny garden flourish. I also bought rain boots in prep for the upcoming rainy season.

Wanting… I really want tickets to Fuji Rock, but can’t seem to understand the purchasing system! The lineup looks sooo spectacular.

Trying… to learn Japanese. I’ve really accelerated my studying as I have little-to-nothing to do at work. I’ve mastered two of the writing systems, and am now picking at the kanji plate.

Loving… the weather! spring is finally coming through, which is amazing to see here in Japan. All of the cherry blossoms are slowly beginning to open, and we’ve had a month or so of gorgeous ume blossoms which are breathtaking.

Planning… I’m heading up to Nagano with a couple friends to go snowboarding this weekend. Which was ironically not something I had planned on doing, yet it’s now in the cards. It’s my last chance to get back out on the powder till next winter, and I’m finally getting the hang of snowboarding again. So here’s to improvement!

Cooking… I’ve not been doing too much cooking due to the horrendous state of my kitchen, I really am afraid of how much gunk I’ve let my sink trap accumulate – and I’m pretending that if I ignore it long enough it’ll magically disappear.  Instead I’ve been concocting a delicious arrangement of different espresso-based drinks and London fog style loveliness, as I’ve recently purchased an espresso bar. It’s been dangerously delicious.  Actually writing about this right now reminded me how I forgot to grab my London fog off of the counter on the way out of the apartment this morning! AARRRRGH! What a waste.

Inspired by… the sunshine, the cherry blossoms, the surprise flowers that appeared in one of my windowboxes the other day, 100 yen stores, eating lunch along the river while watching the fish swim about, and the creativity I see in others.
